Born in 1951 in Saigon where he spent his childhood, Bùi Huy Trang is a French-Vietnamese engineer living in Paris with his Vietnamese wife and their three kids. In 2000, he invented and patented Zixbook™, the hybrid book that links the paper and digital books. Interested in Visual Culture Studies, he explores the extraordinary potential of the complex language of signs, playing on the intricate conflicts inherent in text, image and sound to both inspire emotion and challenge our awareness with the sensory image. With his reportage photographs and novels, he is currently working on three multilingual versions of the Zixbook™, aimed at promoting both education through optimized reading, and the art and culture of Vietnam worldwide through his eyes and heart: Zixnov™, the hybrid novel, Zixphot™, the photography book and Zixtoon™, the graphic novel.
